# OTA commission calculator: what each channel keeps, and what you receive

> Free OTA commission and Airbnb fee calculator. See what the guest pays, what Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Trip.com and Traveloka keep, and what you receive.

Type in your nightly rate, nights and cleaning fee, and see each channel side by side: what the guest pays, what the channel keeps, and what lands in your account — per booking and per month, against a direct booking.

A $120 night, three nights and a $30 cleaning fee is a $390 stay. On Airbnb's host-only fee of 15.5% you receive $329.55. Airbnb's figures are the ones it publishes; the other channels set commission per contract, so their rates are marked as examples for you to replace with your own.

## FAQ

### How much does Airbnb charge hosts?

It depends on the fee model. With the split fee, the host pays typically 3% and the guest pays a service fee of 14.1%–16.5% of the booking subtotal. With the single host-only fee, the whole fee comes out of the host's payout: most hosts pay 15.5%, others typically 14%–16%. Airbnb says the host-only fee is mandatory for most hosts, including those who use property management software, and it is moving all home hosts to it. ### What commission does Booking.com charge?

Booking.com does not publish one rate. Its partner help says the percentage depends on your country, property type and the agreement you signed, and is charged on the room rate plus fees you charge, such as cleaning, after the guest checks out. Marketing programmes like Preferred Partner add to it. Your rate is in your accommodation agreement or under Finance › Reservation statements in the extranet.

### What commission does Agoda charge?

Agoda's compensation depends on the property's location and sometimes the payment model, and is either a percentage of the sell rate or a markup on the rate you load. Agoda does not publish a single figure; yours is under Finance › Contracted compensation in YCS.

### Is a direct booking free?

No. There is no channel commission, but you pay your own card processing, and the calculator shows that as an example rate you can change. If the booking comes through a Santara AI direct booking site with its booking fee switched on, the guest pays a 3% booking fee on top of your price. Santara AI takes 0% on channel bookings and upsells; the 3% applies only to direct-site bookings.

### Why are some rates labelled "example"?

Because Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Trip.com and Traveloka set commission per contract, by country and property type, and none of them publishes one number. The calculator starts those rows at an example 15% so it can show something, and says so. Replace it with the rate from your own extranet or contract and the whole table updates.
