Santara AI vs Little Hotelier
Little Hotelier is a well-made front desk for a small hotel or B&B under one roof, with 450+ channels behind it. Santara AI is built for operators whose doors are spread across addresses: a price for every size, a brief every morning, and AI-drafted replies you approve.
Choose Santara AI if…
- Your doors are apartments, villas or houses at different addresses, not rooms in one building.
- You want to read the monthly price for your exact size on a page, without a call.
- Your morning is spent working out who arrives, who leaves and which unit is not ready — and you want that on one page at 6am.
- You want guest replies drafted by AI on Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia, with a person pressing Send.
- Your cleaners and maintenance people work from WhatsApp or Zalo, not from a hotel system login.
Choose Little Hotelier if…
- You run one small hotel, B&B or guesthouse at one address, and a front desk — check-in, room allocation, payments, housekeeping status — is the job.
- You need reach beyond 54 channels: Little Hotelier says 450+, plus Hotel Metasearch for Google Hotel Ads and Trivago.
- You want direct bookings with no commission. Their booking engine is commission-free; ours takes 3% on direct-site bookings.
- You want guest messaging that also covers email, SMS and WhatsApp in one inbox, and you are happy to buy it as an add-on.
- You want 24/7 phone support and the backing of SiteMinder's distribution business.
The money questions
| Capability | Santara AI | Little Hotelier |
|---|---|---|
No commission on channel bookingsAirbnb, Booking.com and every channel you sell on Why?The core channel manager carries no published commission. Channels Plus, Hotel Metasearch and Dynamic Revenue Plus do: the pricing page footnotes "variable booking fees", without a published rate. Santara AI takes 0% on channel bookings and upsells at every tier; our only commission is 3% on bookings through our optional direct booking site. | Yes | Partial |
No per-reservation or booking feeA flat fee taken out of every stay Why?Partial, because the fee depends on which channels you sell through: nothing published on the core connections, variable booking fees on Channels Plus and Metasearch. On Santara AI the channel side is a subscription and nothing else. | Partial | Partial |
| No commission on guest upsellsLate checkout, transfers, breakfast | Yes | Yes |
No onboarding or setup feeNothing to pay, for anyone Why?Onboarding yourself is free. Plans that come with an onboarding specialist "may incur a minimal setup fee", and the figure is given by a sales rep rather than printed. Migration on Santara AI is included. | Yes | Partial |
| No annual contract or lock-inLeave any month and take your data | Yes | Yes |
Published price at every tierNo “contact sales” to find out what you pay Why?The pricing page shows one plan, Pro, "from" a monthly figure and a "Talk to us" button. Viewed from Vietnam it read from $99 USD a month, and that figure did not change whatever room count we typed. Every Santara AI tier has a number on the pricing page, and the cost table above prices your exact size. | Yes | Partial |
Dynamic pricing without a per-property surchargeSeasonal and day-of-week rate plans included; ours stands down if you run PriceLabs Why?Dynamic Revenue Plus is a paid add-on, and its current launch offer waives "subscription and booking fees" for three months — so after that, both apply. Santara AI's rate rules are first-party and included, with no surcharge. | Yes | No |
How it actually runs
| Capability | Santara AI | Little Hotelier |
|---|---|---|
Proactive daily operations briefEvery arrival, departure, clean, upsell and problem — emailed to you before you ask Why?Little Hotelier gives you a calendar and reports to open. It does not send you a morning brief of arrivals, departures, cleans and open problems before you ask. | Yes | No |
One-tap WhatsApp and Zalo staff plansEach cleaner's day, pre-written and shared to the app they already use in one tap, no new login Why?Housekeeping lives inside Little Hotelier: room status and notes for changeover staff. WhatsApp appears in Guest Engagement as a guest channel, not as a way to send your cleaner their day. Ours writes each cleaner's schedule and shares it to WhatsApp or Zalo in one tap. | Yes | No |
Built for on-site teams, not solo desk hostsDesigned around housekeepers, drivers and villa managers Why?Partial: room status and messages for changeover staff, and a mobile app to update them. That suits a team inside one building. It is not built around cleaners and drivers moving between addresses. | Yes | Partial |
Maintenance tickets with photo evidenceRaised, assigned, chased and closed per property Why?No maintenance ticketing is described. Santara AI has tickets with photos, assignable to a person, tied to the unit. | Yes | No |
AI guest messaging with human approvalDrafted in your voice; nothing sends until you say so Why?Guest Engagement is an add-on with one inbox, scheduled messages and templates. We found no AI reply drafting on Little Hotelier's own pages. Santara AI drafts every reply on Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia; a person approves and sends. | Yes | No |
Owner-ready statementsReports your villa owners can actually read Why?Little Hotelier is built for the owner who runs the property, so its reports are about your own performance. There are no statements for third-party owners. Santara AI produces a month statement per owner: gross, minus fees, minus expenses. | Yes | No |
| White-label for management companiesYour brand in front of your owners | No | No |
Multi-currency and SE Asia operating realityLocal staff workflows, and prices and statements in IDR and VND Why?Stronger than most Western tools: localised sites and local-currency pricing in Indonesia and Thailand, and a booking engine in 20+ languages and 75 currencies. Not Vietnam: no Vietnamese site, billed in USD, and Little Hotelier Pay is not listed there. Santara AI works in dong and rupiah and is built for teams in Vietnam and Indonesia. | Yes | Partial |
Direct booking siteSeven templates built from listings you already imported, selling from the same synced calendar. Direct bookings carry a 3% commission. Why?Both have one. Theirs is commission-free and pairs with a paid Website Builder; ours is optional and takes 3% on direct-site bookings. On direct bookings alone, theirs is the cheaper deal. | Yes | Yes |
What it costs at your size
| Portfolio | Santara AI | Little Hotelier |
|---|---|---|
| 1 door | $29 /mo | $99 /mo |
| 6 doors | $154 /mo | Quote only |
| 15 doors | $344 /mo | Quote only |
| 40 doors | $794 /mo | Quote only |
| Commission on channel bookingsOn $20,000 of bookings a month | None | Quote only |
Software subscription only. Channel commission, payment processing and any optional add-ons are excluded on both sides. Our 3% commission applies only to direct bookings through our booking site and is not worked out here.
Competitor figures are the vendor's published rates at that portfolio size. Where a vendor does not publish one, the cell says Quote only rather than an estimate.
Our figures come from the published ladder on the pricing page. Prices shown in USD; readers in a local price book see their own currency there.
A hotel tool, priced by the building
Little Hotelier prices a property by its number of bookable rooms, and it says it specialises in properties of 1–30 rooms. Its own definition is the important part: rooms at the same address are one property, and "two apartments at two different addresses are two properties". Several properties is a conversation with sales.
So the comparison splits cleanly. A 15-room guesthouse in one building is the customer Little Hotelier is built and priced for, and on a room-banded price it may well cost less there than on our per-listing ladder — ask them for the quote and compare. Fifteen apartments across a city is the customer we are built for, and there every one of our prices is on the page.
The fees are in the add-ons
The base channel manager carries no published commission. The growth features do. Channels Plus works on "a fixed commission rate" billed monthly, Hotel Metasearch charges "variable booking fees", Dynamic Revenue Plus has a subscription plus booking fees, and payments carry transaction fees. None of those rates is printed on the pricing page.
That is a reasonable model — you pay when they bring you a booking — but it means the bill for a busy month is not knowable in advance. Santara AI takes 0% on channel bookings and upsells, includes its pricing rules, and its only commission is 3% on its optional direct booking site.
A front desk versus a morning
Little Hotelier is shaped around a reception desk: one calendar, check-in, room allocation, payments, housekeeping status. If someone stands at a front desk all day, that is the right shape.
Most of our customers do not have a front desk. They have six villas, two cleaners and a driver. Santara AI sends a Daily Brief at 6am with every arrival, departure, unassigned clean and open ticket, then writes each cleaner's day ready to share on WhatsApp or Zalo. Guest replies on Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia arrive drafted; you read them and press Send.
Where Little Hotelier is stronger
Every comparison page on this site carries this section. If one of these decides it for you, buy theirs.
- Channel reach. Little Hotelier says it connects 450+ booking channels; we connect 54. Add Hotel Metasearch and Channels Plus and their distribution is wider than ours.
- A single small hotel. For rooms under one roof, a room-banded price and a front-desk workflow — check-in, room allocation, integrated payments — fit better than our per-listing model.
- Commission-free direct bookings. Their booking engine takes no commission; ours takes 3%.
- Broader guest inbox. Guest Engagement covers email, SMS, WhatsApp, Airbnb and Booking.com in one place; we reply on Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia only.
- Support and maturity. 24/7 phone, chat and email support and nearly two decades in the market, backed by SiteMinder.
Switching from Little Hotelier
- Migration is free and we run it — properties, rooms, rates, availability, reservations and guest history.
- Most portfolios are live inside 24 hours. Your Airbnb and Booking.com connections are re-established here, and nothing is cancelled until you confirm the calendars match.
- Little Hotelier is month to month unless you chose annual billing for the discount; check your own terms before you pick a date.
- First 3 months free on Santara AI, month to month after that, no exit fee, full data export.
Questions people actually ask
Is Little Hotelier good for Airbnb and vacation rentals?
It connects to Airbnb and lists vacation rentals among the property types it serves, and for a group of units at one address it works well. It is built around a small hotel's front desk, though, and units at different addresses count as separate properties, which moves you to a sales conversation. If your portfolio is apartments or villas spread across a city, Santara AI is built for that shape.
Little Hotelier vs Santara AI: which is cheaper?
It depends on how your rooms are arranged. For one listing, our published price is below Little Hotelier's "from" figure (from $99 USD a month as shown in Vietnam; other regions see other figures). For many rooms under one roof, their room-banded pricing may well come in under our per-listing price — ask them for a quote. For units across several addresses, Little Hotelier is a sales call and our price is on the page. The table above shows our side at every size.
Does Little Hotelier have AI guest messaging?
Its Guest Engagement add-on gives you one inbox, scheduled messages and templated upsell emails. We found no AI reply drafting described on Little Hotelier's own pages. Santara AI drafts every reply on Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia, in the guest's language, and nothing sends until you approve it.
How many channels does Little Hotelier connect compared with Santara AI?
Little Hotelier says 450+. Santara AI connects 54, including Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Trip.com and Google Vacation Rentals, all syncing rates, availability and bookings. If you need a long tail of niche channels, theirs is the longer list.
Does Little Hotelier charge booking fees?
Not on the core channel manager or the booking engine, as published. Channels Plus, Hotel Metasearch and Dynamic Revenue Plus carry booking fees that are not printed on the pricing page, and payments carry transaction fees. Santara AI takes 0% on channel bookings and upsells, and 3% only on its optional direct booking site.
How long does moving from Little Hotelier take?
Under 24 hours for most portfolios, run by us at no cost. We import properties, rooms, rates, availability, reservations and guest history, then reconnect your channels. Nothing is switched off on the Little Hotelier side until you have checked the calendars line up.
