Santara AI vs Hospitable
Hospitable is the better messaging tool for a solo host with five listings. We are the one that does not take 10% of your late checkouts, and the one that knows who is cleaning tomorrow.
Choose Santara AI if…
- You have people on the ground and the day is about coordinating them, not just answering guests.
- You sell upsells and would rather keep all of the money.
- You want dynamic pricing without paying per property for it.
- You operate in South-East Asia, where the channels that matter are not on their list of five.
Choose Hospitable if…
- You are a solo host and guest messaging is the entire job.
- Vrbo guest messages matter to you — they carry them natively; we sync Vrbo's calendar, rates and bookings but not its messages.
- You want the simplest possible setup and nothing resembling an operations system.
- At one or two listings their entry tier is cheaper than ours, and that matters more to you than what it does.

How it actually runs
| Capability | Santara AI | Hospitable |
|---|---|---|
Proactive daily operations briefEvery arrival, departure, clean, upsell and problem — emailed to you before you ask Why?Hospitable answers your guests well. It does not tell you that the villa with a 2pm arrival still has yesterday's guest in it and no cleaner assigned. | Yes | No |
One-tap WhatsApp and Zalo staff plansEach cleaner's day, pre-written and shared to the app they already use in one tap, no new login Why?There is no staff dispatch here at all — Hospitable is a guest-facing product. Housekeepers and drivers are not part of the model. | Yes | No |
| Built for on-site teams, not solo desk hostsDesigned around housekeepers, drivers and villa managers | Yes | No |
| Maintenance tickets with photo evidenceRaised, assigned, chased and closed per property | Yes | Partial |

Multi-currency and SE Asia operating realityLocal staff workflows, and prices and statements in IDR and VND Why?Their channel list is Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Agoda and Google Vacation Rentals, and it does not grow. | Direct booking site, no cut of your payoutSeven templates built from listings you already imported, selling from the same synced calendar. No commission on what it sells. | Yes | Yes |
What it costs at your size
| Portfolio | Santara AI | Hospitable |
|---|---|---|
| 1 door | $29 /mo | $29 /mo |
| 6 doors | $154 /mo | $99 /mo |
| 15 doors | $344 /mo | Quote only |
| 40 doors | $794 /mo | Quote only |
| Commission on bookingsOn $20,000 of bookings a month | None | Quote only |
Software subscription only. Channel commission, payment processing and any optional add-ons are excluded on both sides.
Competitor figures are the vendor's published rates at that portfolio size. Where a vendor does not publish one, the cell says Quote only rather than an estimate.
Our figures come from the published ladder on the pricing page. Prices shown in USD; readers in a local price book see their own currency there.
10% of an upsell is a strange thing to charge for
An upsell is your room, your time and your cleaner's rescheduled afternoon. The software's contribution is a message and a payment link. Hospitable takes 10% of it.
Run the arithmetic on a portfolio doing six late checkouts and four early check-ins a month at $25 each: that is $25 a month to them, every month, for the same message. Ours are included in the plan, on Operator and above, for any volume — and the upsell engine is the same one that detects the opportunity in the first place.
Five channels, and none of them are the ones Bali runs on
Hospitable connects exactly five: Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Agoda and Google Vacation Rentals. That is a deliberate, defensible product decision — they are deep on those five rather than shallow on sixty.
It is also a problem in South-East Asia. Traveloka and Tiket.com carry a large share of Indonesian domestic bookings and are not on their list. Both are on ours, alongside Trip.com, Klook and Hostelworld, and all of them sync rates, availability and bookings the same way Airbnb does.
Answering guests is not the same job as running a villa
Hospitable is excellent at the thing it does: a guest writes, a good reply goes back, the calendar stays clean. If you are one person with five apartments and no staff, that may be the entire job.
It stops where ours starts. There is nobody to send a clean to, no ticket when the aircon fails, no brief at 6am telling you today has three arrivals, two departures and one room with no cleaner on it. If your operation has people in it, that gap is the whole comparison.
Where Hospitable is stronger
Every comparison page on this site carries this section. If one of these decides it for you, buy theirs.
- Vrbo messaging. Both of us connect Vrbo, but Hospitable also carries its guest messages; our Vrbo connection syncs its availability, rates and bookings, not its messages.
- Simplicity. For a solo host with a handful of listings, Hospitable is less software to learn and less to configure than an operations platform.
- Price at the very bottom. At one or two listings their entry tier undercuts ours.
- Maturity in guest messaging specifically. They have been doing that one thing for longer than we have been doing anything.
Switching from Hospitable
- Free migration, done by us: properties, rooms, rates, availability, reservations and guest history.
- Your Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda and Vrbo connections are re-established here — Vrbo without its guest messages, which that connection does not carry, and we will tell you that before you start.
- Most portfolios are live inside 24 hours.
- Month to month, no exit fee, full data export.
Questions people actually ask
Does Santara AI take a cut of upsells?
No. Late checkout, early check-in, airport transfers, breakfast — the whole amount is yours, on every plan that includes upsells (Operator and above) and at any volume. Hospitable processes upsells at 10%.
Is dynamic pricing an extra?
Not here. Seasonal and day-of-week rate rules are included at every tier. Hospitable charges roughly $15 per property per month for their dynamic pricing add-on, which is a real number at ten doors.
Can you connect Vrbo like Hospitable does?
For availability, rates and bookings, yes — Vrbo connects like every other channel. Not for guest messages: that connection carries none, so Vrbo conversations stay in Vrbo. If Vrbo messaging is most of your guest contact, Hospitable handles it natively.
What does Santara AI do that Hospitable does not?
The operations half. A daily brief before you ask for it, the day's jobs written for the staff who do them, maintenance tickets with photo evidence, and the cleaning schedule that decides whether a late checkout is even possible. Hospitable is a guest-messaging product and does not claim otherwise.
Is Hospitable cheaper?
At one or two listings, usually yes. Add the dynamic-pricing surcharge and the 10% on upsells and the gap closes quickly — the table above shows the subscription side at four portfolio sizes so you can work out your own.
